Volunteer Opportunities

A number of opportunities exist for Members to become involved with the activities of TFCA.

All committee members must be TFCA members in good standing to participate in committee work.

Resource Guide for the TFC

This Committee is charged with developing and updating The TFCA Resource Guide for Transplant Financial Coordinator, which contains a wealth of educational materials, reference sources, standardized forms, and other helpful “How To’s” for TFC’s of all levels of experience. A 15th Edition, which will be complimentary for all 2017 TFCA Members in Good Standing, will be distributed to members upon receipt of membership dues.

Workshop

The yearly TFCA workshop provides TFC’s nationwide the opportunity for education regarding transplant finance, along with the opportunity to network with their peers. This committee is charged with recruiting the speakers, developing the agenda and all necessary preparation for the annual workshop. This committee will meet weekly/biweekly as needed. All active TFC’s are welcome to join our team.

Fundraising

This committee is charged with working with sponsors within the transplant community and other interested parties for continued support from our sponsors and exhibitors allowing TFCA to provide continued education and networking opportunities for the Transplant Financial Coordinator. Sponsors will be listed in the meeting brochure, the meeting materials, and on the TFCA website.

Activities

This committee is charged with reviewing the workshop location and looking for activities for attendees.

Certification

This committee is charged with developing a certification process to test the competency and evaluate the level of expertise of a TFC’s knowledge base. In doing so, the committee strives to have the position of Certified TFC recognized by CMS, and to become a certified professional position recognized by transplant center executives with a transplant center budget line item. Committee members will take test for certification if they choose to be certified.

Elections

The election committee is charged to oversee the nomination and election process which could include counting votes. The committee will review by laws and guidelines related to the process and present them to the Governing Body and Members for the potential for improvements and changes.

Please note-at this time, all committee members attending the annual TFCA workshop are responsible to pay their own travel, housing, and workshop registration expenses.
